The Songwriter Evening concept is to showcase the talents of local songwriters by combining a first class venue and sound system with an audience who have come to listen to the music.
The Evenings are held monthly in the superb Village Hall in Ysceifiog, Flintshire CH8 8NJ.
The evening starts at 7pm with registration of performers and the music starts at 7.30. Please be in your seat by 7.30 so you don’t miss any music. The evening costs just £3 per person with all income going to help with the upkeep of Ysceifiog Village Hall. No performers or organisers are paid.
Everyone is welcome – come and listen to exceptional local musicians play the songs that they have written. We know that there are loads of very talented musicians in and around North Wales and the Songwriter Evening is designed to enable those musicians to showcase their art. You’ll be listening to some exceptional original music and helping support local musicians.
Songwriters – the evening is based on the open mic format and is open to all songwriters who want to perform their own work in front of an audience. No covers please, just original work. The aim is that musicians will be able to perform at least two songs each, more if time allows.
The key point for musicians is that this is not a pub or club environment, people won’t be chatting to their mates, ordering drinks or watching TV, they are there to listen to your music. The acoustics are excellent, we supply superb Shure SM7B microphones on studio grade mic stands and a Peavey PA system controlled by a professional mixing engineer with over 20 years experience. This all adds up to a superb evening for both audience and artists alike.
Please remember, anyone performing must perform their own original music, strictly no covers.
